My students need Math Talk Magnetic Fraction Center, Pick-A-Problem Math Warm-Ups, and Quick-Pick Math Student Activity Cards to reinforce learning targets that meet state standards.

My kids are amazing! I am at an inner city charter school that is 100% Somali and English Language Learners. These students come to school with a bright attitude but limited resources. Many are newcomers to the United States. I would love to be able to provide them with more supplies that could help benefit their learning.
My students have a high drive to learn however face struggles that most students don’t have to being 100% low income at a Title I school.
Our school has been open for 2 years and is striving to give all of our students their best possible chances for an amazing education. Many factors play a part in making this happen such as funding for supplies and resources that either the student or school is unable to provide for them.
Although I don’t mind spending money out of pocket for my students, there is still no way to be able to provide them with many of the other opportunities higher income students are fortunate to have without help from others in the community.
As a first year teacher I have found out very quickly how fast I can lose kids when I stick to teacher-centered, whole group, paper and pencil, lecture style teaching. I am constantly looking for more engaging activities or games to do with my students.
I am so impressed with the amount of excitement in my students towards math when they can work more collaboratively or competitively to help engage them.
These games do just that!! The Quick Pick Math Activity Cards are great ways to incorporate math activities on limited time for preparation. The Math Talk Magnetic Fraction Center will be an awesome visual for students to have repeat exposure to the concept of different fractions. The Pick a Problem Math Warm ups will be awesome either starters or great ways to conclude a math lesson.
I would love to add these amazing resources to my classroom so that my class has more access towards fun, engaging activities. My kids thrive through cooperative learning with their peers so can not wait to add these as an option.
