Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

One of the reasons I really like teaching first grade is the huge amount of reading growth that happens with this age group. It's so rewarding to watch a struggling reader at the beginning of the year become fluent and confidently read by the end. Their smile and sense of pride are all worth it! Teaching is my passion and I LOVE my job!

My Project

With the purchase of these items, it will add to my fun learning environment in my first grade classroom. The couch, pillows and rug will be added to our rainbow fish reading corner. The couch will be easy to clean as well as the machine washable pillows. This is very important as COVID is now apart of our lives. The headphones will be an amazing investment that I would be able to use for years to come. They are perfect for first graders and will get put to great use. The stoplight noise level monitor will be a great visual aid for students. It will help me with classroom management and a fun way to teach students about inside voice levels and when it is okay to be loud. I appreciate everything and absolutely love teaching. Being a first year teacher, I am trying to add useful things that will last me for many years to come.
