Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are heading into the home stretch of the school year! Many of them come from low-income families, and they rely on the academic, social-emotional, and even nutritional support the school has been able to provide. If there is one thing this school population loves it is SPORTS. They will work hard to make the team, stay on the team, and they love to practice and compete against each other. We want to use this drive to keep them motivated.

My Project

Our students are heading into the home stretch of the school year. They have been working hard and so have their teachers. Currently, we do not have much for them to do out in the play yard, and many of our students cannot afford their own sports equipment. Our school will use this equipment, the football, basketballs and soccer balls, to reward students on Fridays for their hard work and good behavior with games and tournaments, but they will also be able to use them during the school day as well.

We will be changing our equipment check out system to provide more accountability for students to return the items, making this equipment last longer than in previous systems.
