The sensory materials, flexible seating, social-emotional tools, books, sensory tubes, and small manipulatives have been seamlessly incorporated into both structured lessons and free exploration time. One especially meaningful moment was watching students who previously struggled with regulation begin independently engaging with sensory tools instead of exhibiting undesired behaviors. These materials have created opportunities for learning, calm, and connection that simply weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their reactions were immediate and joyful. Many were drawn to the bright colors and inviting textures, eagerly exploring and interacting with items throughout the room. Some students who had never vocalized before began making sounds while playing with the sensory tools, while others demonstrated increased focus and engagement. Every student connected with the materials in their own way, and it was clear from the very beginning that these resources met a deep need in our special day class preschool environment.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these materials will continue to support our current classroom goals, especially in the areas of social-emotional development, communication, and self-regulation. Students are using the tools to practice turn-taking, requesting, emotional identification, and calming strategies, and we will continue building on these skills through guided play and small-group instruction. This was my first year teaching independently without a special education teacher, and I did not have enough resources to fully support my students before this donation. Now, my classroom is full, my students are thriving, and their growth continues every day. I am incredibly grateful to our donor for their generosity and care—this impact is lasting and truly life-changing for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1763474841396,"projectUrl":"project/more-inclusive-environment/9573606/","projectTitle":"More Inclusive Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Melissa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10168308"},{"teacherId":4028367,"projectId":8923855,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of bingo supplies for our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program. Everyone had a great time, and the excitement it generated was contagious. Students are still talking about it and asking when we can play again. Even more importantly, we noticed a positive shift in behavior following the event, as students became more motivated to earn future PBIS rewards.\r\n\r\nYour support helped us reinforce the power of positive behavior in a fun and meaningful way.
