Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the absolute best part of my day, and always bring such a silly and wonderful energy to my classroom. But with the issues such as hunger and economic troubles, mental health and stress problems, and lack of belief and self confidence that affects students in a Title One School, it can be difficult for students to see their high potential. Especially in my math classes, their poor belief in their abilities leads them to be very stressed over math problems and to automatically assume that they will not be able to learn. This makes it really difficult as a teacher to motivate my kids when they are struggling with so much behind the scenes.
I plan to use the snacks and candy as incentives for when they reach a milestone, teach in front of the class, or tried their best.
I also would like to use them as incentives for coming after school for tutoring or when they're having a bad day and need a little pick-me-up! With your support, I can provide a variety of snacks, candy, and other treats as incentives to make my kids' day a little brighter and reward them for all their hard work!
