Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are inquisitive and eager to learn. They love to collaborate and interact with each other in small groups. They work better would they are allowed to move around and get their energy out. They would love to have the opportunity to be able to choose a seat that is different than traditional seating. We are located in a small, rural town and don’t have as many resources available to provide my students what they need in order to give them the best opportunity to expand on their creativity and desire to learn. I would love to offer them the resources that they deserve to continue to foster their love and excitement for learning.

My Project

I would love to offer my students flexible seating options to make them excited about learning in my classroom and am requesting a Flex-Space Balance Ball Seat Bundle.

I will still offer traditional seating but having an option to sit somewhere different is sometimes all it takes for some students to become engaged and to cure restlessness.

I feel when students are allowed to make choices for themselves on things such as where to sit during independent work time, they will take ownership in their learning. This will also decrease disruptions and negative behaviors in the classroom. The seating I have chosen is lightweight and easy to move around the classroom.
