Fun Flexible Seating for Focus

Help me give my students some flexible seating options. We would especially be grateful for the Flex-Space Premium Wobble Chair and the Kore Pre-teen active chair. These will give students options to help them focus their attention.

My Project

Flexible seating allows my students to make decisions about how they learn best. I currently have a few flexible seating options like stools wiggle cushions and some crate seats I made myself. The students also can also choose a working space on the floor with a blanket. They enjoy the flexibility and autonomy these choices give them. Currently students pick a spot in the morning that will be their independent working space, some of these are flexible seating options and others are just floor spots.

When my students are able to choose their spots and be comfortable they are more focused and productive.

My goal is to continue adding to my flexible seating options so that more students can have comfortable seating. Adding wobble stools, a bean bag chair and cushions will give my students more options so that more kids can have a flexible seating option each day. The cushions are great because students can use them on the floor or on their chairs to be more comfortable. I have a fairly small classroom, so the large baskets will give me good storage for the cushions and blankets I already have in my room. In addition, the seat sacks help students stay organized and give them a place to store materials they can easily access when working in different spots in the room.

I love watching my students work to figure out which items and spaces help them learn the best. At the beginning of each year we discuss what a working spot is and how it can be helpful. This is the first step in many to help 5th graders learn how to take control over their own learning. Please help fund this project to benefit my students!
