My Students

My students love learning! This kindergarten class is in an urban Ohio school district, and my students are always asking questions and feeling eager to discover the answers. They love hands-on learning and engaging projects. They also enjoy literature and listening to read-alouds.

Kindergarten should be a year of learning through play, engaging in projects that reflect their interests, developing social skills to work with others, and learning to love reading!

My goal is to foster and facilitate their learning, reading, and discovering. This is a diverse group of students, and there are a variety of needs and learning styles in the classroom. I want this incredible group of kids to have all the opportunities they can to have a great first year of school.

My Project

In kindergarten, students are expected to master letter identification- names and sounds- and uppercase and lowercase letter formation. While adults may think of these as easy skills, they can be incredibly challenging for our youngest learners to learn! My students spend much of the school day hard at work, learning and practicing new skills.

Center time is when students get to continue learning- but in a more fun, interactive way.

Centers are my students' favorite time of the day! They love working with each other to learn and practice new skills. Help me give my students some great new activities to keep them motivated when it comes to connecting letter identification to letter sounds and letter formation. Help me get them excited about being in school and getting the building blocks of reading!
