This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are quite eager to learn. They are wonderful students who are Developmentally Delayed. I love working with them because if they learn at least one new thing once a week, I know that I’ve made a positive difference in that child’s Life. When a student comes to my class at the beginning of the school year not knowing letters, letter sounds, colors, numbers, and shapes, I’m longing to teach them. When they leave knowing all of these things, I’m overjoyed. I’m also excited to know that with love and patience a struggling student can accomplish much in a school year.
My Project
TO GIVE MY STUDENTS AN EDUCATIONAL SUMMER AND HAVE THEM CONTINUE TO READ AND LEARN NEW MATERIAL ALL YEAR LONG. To know that my students will have the learning tools that they need to help them be successful in kindergarten. I want them to enjoy the summer while continuing to learn, and to experience the joy and fun of learning at home as well as much as they learn at school. A joy for me, would be to know that I'm a part of their educational success all year long. When potential contributors donate to our project, they will not only help to improve the student’s learning experiences, but they will also greatly help to increase the student’s academic skills. In my classroom, I teach and re-teach, letters, letter sounds, and numbers daily. I give my students the opportunity to be independent when writing and drawing. To have these materials during the summer, will enable them to continue learning the skills they need to help them succeed academically in kindergarten when they return to school after summer break.
