Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students approach school with joy and enthusiasm! A majority of my students are from low-income homes; the students in my district all receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are all English language learners. Despite these challenges, my students are eager to grow and learn.

My Project

Some colored paper, laminating sheets, and playdough will go a long way in creating fun and engaging activities to help my students make up for lost learning this year. We will be creating and purchasing poems and games from Teachers Pay Teachers to boost phonics and reading fluency skills. The Word family flip books and Word building games will be used during our small group instructional groups.

In addition to phonics activities, second graders need time for imaginative and cooperative play with diverse dolls, figurines, and board games.

Thanks for helping bolster our indoor recess actvities for those chilly Massachusetts winter days.
