My Students

In our classroom, we try to be as hands-on and innovative as possible. We want to explore and create possibilities. Our biggest challenge is getting the materials we need to provide the ultimate learning experience. Our school is located in a low income area.

Many of our students live below the poverty line.

They work well as teams and are more like a family than many of them have at home. It is amazing what these students are doing at this school, and we would like to continue and go even further with this tradition.

My Project

Indoor recesses need to be more active. Because of the weather in Southeast Missouri during school months, there seem to be more indoor recess days than outdoor recess days. Therefore, it is important that we keep our students active on these days. It is not enough just to keep them occupied. They need activity.

These indoor recess games will not only keep our students active, but it will also teach cooperation and teamwork.

The nature of these games will allow students to have fun while getting them on their feet and active instead of sitting around playing board games or on computers.
