My Students

My students are English Language Learners who speak different languages at home. They are students who are enrolled in general education classes but need support in developing their English language skills, in order to excel in their other subjects. They love to learn and come to class every day ready to work hard!

In order to fully access the grade level curriculum, my students need support in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.

This will help them be their most successful in school and in their future career paths.

My Project

I run a small after school program for my English learners two days a week. It's a great opportunity for them to get some additional learning time in a small class environment. My students like coming to the program and love to stop me in the hall, saying "I'll see you later!" on after school days.

This is a great group of students who like to learn and are happy to come to do additional learning after school!

They aren't usually able to bring their own snacks from home and they are hungry at the end of the day so these snacks would go a long way towards making sure my kids are ready for more learning! It's also helpful to have the snacks on hand in my classroom for students who come to class hungry and can't concentrate. They need to eat something before their brains are ready to learn!
