My Students

I'm so happy to begin my journey with DonorsChoose.org As a classroom teacher, it is difficult to give the students in your class everything they need for a fun, inviting, creative learning environment with such a tight budget.

I teach two classes of third graders.

I do this by team-teaching. My subjects taught are: math, science and social studies. We are a rural school in southwest Louisiana. I want to bring the rest of the world to my students in as many ways as I am able.

This year, my students consists of multiple learning levels and backgrounds. I have one student that is on the Autism Spectrum, 10 with ADD and/or ADHD, and many that come from very low income homes.

Please help me to expand the world to these students and to give them everything they will need on their journey through elementary school and to give them life-long, positive memories of their grade school years.

My Project

This project is all about getting my students engaged in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning. These kits are a great introduction to STEM for my third graders. Not only will they be engaged in STEM learning, they will also be involved in hands-on activities. This is the future of education.

What a great opportunity this will be for 8 and 9 year old children to build, create and innovate!

The Survive a Quake kit will teach the students about cause and effect, the building process and trial and error. The Electricity Lab will give the students hands-on learning with circuits. I can't wait to see my students create Rube Goldberg machines with the Chain Reaction Kits. Please support this project, so my rural students will be able to expand their educational horizons. I can't wait to see them fully engaged in learning. Thank you for your support!
