My students are special because they are the best in the building. My students are always ready to learn. They are always eager to learn a new approach or invent a better approach. My students think critically and are encouraged to think creatively to solve problems. My students are always engaged and excited about education. They have exceeded all my expectations, and overcome every obstacle placed before them. They are magnificent. One hundred percent of the school district is within the poverty range so my students don't always have the best items to engage or interact with at home.
My students come to school daily because it is a safe place and they know they are learning skills to use for the rest of their lives.
They came to me not excited about education, but I have changed that. I believe I have the most well-behaved students. We have worked together and my students are excited about college and getting a scholarship and they are only in kindergarten. My students may not have much physically, but mentally, they have an abundance. I love them and want only the best for them! Thanks for reading about my students.
I am so excited to present this project for funding for my students. My project includes resources to teach students about STEM. We are going to incorporate STEM into our science lessons on animals, animal habitats, and living and non-living things. We will be using the animal picture cards and the structure building as a hands-on project to solve the problem of providing more natural habitats for animals that do not live in the wild. Students will design their structure using the blueprint maps and use the plans to construct their habitat. All students will be assigned specific STEM career roles throughout the duration of the project.
Students will be introduced to the STEM-related career of an animal scientist, veterinarian, civil engineer, construction manager, aerospace engineer, computer hardware engineer, astronomer, and an illustrator.
We will use the book included about homelessness as an introduction to a real-world problem. We will use the STEM building kits and blue print kits to design affordable housing for homeless families. We will plan, design, and construct model homes for families facing homelessness. Students will equip their model homes with technology to make them "smart houses". We will use the planetarium to encourage student interest in the STEM careers of an aerospace engineer, and astronomer. We will be discussing the effects of pollution on the Earth and the consumption of Earth's natural resources. We will take an in-depth look at other planets and student will use the characteristics to create their own planet. Students will also build spacecrafts to navigate the planets to encourage them in the STEM career of an automotive engineer. I am excited about the opportunity STEM will bring to the classroom.
