Full STEAM ahead!

Help me give my students updated materials for science and art to use in our classroom!

My Students

I teach an amazing group of second graders! They are hard working, deep thinkers, and kind to all of those around them. They have an amazing attitude about school, and I want to share a love of learning with them from the earliest stages of life that will carry on with them as they grow. We began our year learning about the power of the word YET. We talked about how if we give up we will never get better. We thought about things we can not do yet in our lives, and then what we CAN do that shows we are on our way. We have started transitioning this thinking to apply to our learning in school. They are so good about remembering when they get stuck on something that "it just means this is a chance for my brain to grow!"

I find this to be amazing because my students come from harder home lives than most.

I teach at a Title I school, which means we have a high percentage of students from a low-socioeconomic status. I want to show my students that they are just as capable as anyone else!

My Project

I am always looking for ways to increase student creativity through STEAM. Making sure to have various art and science materials accessible at all times will allow my students to do this. These materials will help us to create dioramas, conduct experiments, create artwork, an many other projects.

By helping fund these materials, you will be helping students to access their creativity and inquiry in the classroom.

In helping students to access their creativity in arts and sciences, it is my hope that it will transfer to the other subject areas, like writing.
