Ms. McKelvey from Columbia SC is requesting lab equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need these scientific experiment kits to dive deeper into STEM exploration and help them look at Science in a fun way and connect real-world experience with what they learn.

I love my students, they are imaginative, expressive and a handful at times. They do not all come from the greatest circumstances, but I try to provide a safe yet comfortable atmosphere for learning. I want them to enjoy learning and have fun, they will be more connected and remember the lesson.
My students are used to not having the materials to complete the lessons; I am used to creating STEAM lessons on the fly because the materials may not always be accessible.
I want them to be able to be excited about coming to class and doing exactly what I previewed about the lessons. They get enough letdowns at home.
Students have to be able to buy into the things they are learning about. As the STEM Coordinator at my school, I want to be able to give my students a look at the science in the things they love to do outside of school, such as making slime, eating ice cream, drinking soda, and so much more. Being a Title I school, we can not afford the extra materials that will effectively make these experiments happen.
Your donations would help our students get materials of their own.
Using the glue in the school to make slime and trying to use it for classroom instruction becomes hard, so having the National Geographic Slime kit would give my students options for creation. These STEM kits would be great to add so that we would have our own supplies in the STEM/STEAM department. Giving our students great educational experiences that connect with their real life experiences is the goal we strive to achieve. Adding the Klutz Soap kit, Candy Chemistry, and Tasty Science gets our students excited because these are things they love already. The STEAM Kids book allows us to add literacy to our classroom and the kids can find activities to do at home with parents. The Crystal Growing lab kit collaborates will th Social Studies and gives our students a chance to understand what happens in caves.
