This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a diverse group of students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade. The majority of students from our school who come from low socioeconomic status are in minority groups. I am privileged to be able to teach every student in the school at some point during the year using our STEM curriculum.
The best part of my day is seeing students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade engaged in class and excited to learn about STEAM.
I have access to an awesome curriculum, but there are still items that we need to get our class set up.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will be used to help set up my new STEAM classroom. My older students use VEX robotics kits which have many small pieces. To help streamline the process of finding the robotics pieces they need, I will implement a storage system for the VEX pieces. I am also requesting three different puzzles to use in learning centers for my younger students.
The materials that I am requesting will create a positive learning environment for my new and future STEAM students.
I want to show students how to stay organized and the storage containers will help greatly!
