My Students
I am a Kindergarten/1st-grade teacher in a Title 1, low socio-economic area with refugees from all over the world including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Syria. My students love to learn through hands-on experiences.
Hardworking, focused, and eager, my students have a passion for learning and a strong desire to become better students
My students are working to overcome systemic issues that are prevalent in their daily lives. Despite the hardships they endure, my students come to school ignited with the hope that they can grow and overcome.
My Project
Children are continually taking in their environment both indoors and out. These resources are great for students to begin incorporating the scientific method by questioning, hypothesizing, observing, and interacting with various tools. Students can also build important life skills such as collaborating, persistence, and critical thinking.
Learning doesn't stop when children leave the classroom.
The outdoor resources provide students an engaging and self-directed learning experience that translates across multiple domains. These outdoor resources would make a profound impact on their learning.
The tools will provide our students with continual opportunities to engage with each other and the world around them.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
