My Project

Every day, my second-grade students arrive eager to learn, but many come to school hungry or without access to healthy snacks throughout the day. Hunger can make it difficult for students to focus, participate, and do their best work. My goal is to create a classroom environment where every child has access to nutritious snacks that help them stay energized and ready to learn.

To make this possible, I am requesting a small refrigerator and healthy snack supplies for our classroom.

The refrigerator will allow us to safely store fresh fruits, cheese sticks, yogurt, and other nutritious options that support student health and learning. Having these items readily available will ensure that students have access to healthy choices when they need them most.

My classroom serves students from diverse backgrounds, and many families face financial challenges. For some children, the snack they receive at school may be the most nutritious food they have during the school day. By providing healthy snacks, we can reduce distractions caused by hunger, improve focus during instruction, and help students build positive eating habits.

This project is about more than food—it's about meeting students' basic needs so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. When children are nourished, they are better able to engage in learning, collaborate with classmates, and reach their full potential.
