My Project

Our students are amazing. They are creative, funny, resilient, and full of potential. Every day, they show up carrying a lot — and still keep going. They support each other. They ask thoughtful questions. They work hard. They deserve a school environment that meets their basic needs and helps them feel cared for.

Snacks may seem small, but they make a big difference.

Our Title I school is situated in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the country, so finding something to munch on outside of the building is not really an option. A hungry student can’t focus. It’s hard to stay engaged and learn when your stomach is growling. Having snacks on hand means we can respond right away when a student needs something quick and simple. It helps them reset, re-engage. Sometimes their favorite snack can provide a bit of an incentive to show up at all!

Providing snacks to students is also about care. It means something when students know we see them, we value them, and we want them to have what they need to succeed.
