This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teacher, I strive to create a welcoming, engaging, and supportive environment for my students. Each of the items I’ve requested plays a key role in fostering a positive and productive atmosphere:
Snacks and Chips: Hunger can significantly affect mood and focus.
A hungry student may feel irritable, distracted, or unmotivated. Offering snacks can provide a much-needed energy boost, brighten their day, and increase their engagement in class activities. Sometimes, something as small as sharing a bag of chips can make a big difference in how students approach their learning.
Sensory Cube: High school can be overwhelming, and a sensory cube offers students a healthy way to manage stress, anxiety, or restlessness. By giving them an outlet for nervous energy, it allows them to refocus and participate more effectively in class.
Mini Trophies: Celebrating accomplishments—big or small—is vital to boosting confidence and motivation. Whether it’s for completing an assignment, demonstrating kindness, or showing improvement, these trophies can make students feel recognized and valued. They’re a simple but impactful way to build a sense of achievement.
Air Fresheners: A clean and pleasant-smelling classroom can create a comfortable learning environment. A fresh-smelling space is inviting and can enhance focus and positivity for both students and staff.
With these items, I hope to create a classroom where students feel cared for, encouraged, and inspired to do their best. Your support will help make this vision a reality.
