Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a low-income, high poverty school district, and they are faced with several challenges day-to-day. Despite the many challenges my students face, they have the hunger to learn and grow each day. Being a first year teacher also creates some challenges too. Slowly but surely together we are conquering third grade like champions.

What makes my students special is they come to school ready and eager to learn.

My students do not have a lot at home. When my students find a new book, they can’t wait to dive right in and get lost in the story.

My Project

The food I have chosen for my third graders will help make a difference in their learning by taking away the feeling of being hungry. I have picked snacks that are guaranteed to be kid-friendly. The snacks will also improve their lives. Most of my students are always hungry. I want to take away any learning distractions. Hunger is a huge factor.

With these snacks, my students will have the energy needed in a day.

Having snacks on hand my students will never have to worry about being hungry when at school and home. With your donations I will be able to provide my students with snacks to send home over the weekend.
