Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project is for students who need snacks or clothing. Most of my students come from poor communities and are always asking for food and or help with getting general everyday supplies such as clothing for themselves and their families. Funding this project will help students focus better in class because their immediate need for something to eat. Students who don't have to worry about their stomach growling are able to focus on what's most important which is learning.

Students need food and hydration to function properly to have energy to keep active throughout the day.

Snacks are good for kids because they help them stay focused at school and give them needed nutrients, and keep hunger at bay. Food is an essential part of life, and hunger is primal. Students should be able to eat when they are hungry and not be confined to a schedule. At a glance, eating during class may not look like such a good idea, but it is beneficial and can help a student in the long run.They will aslo have the availability of clothing to stay warm and feel comfortable fitting in with their counterparts.

Coming to a new country is not easy and when the simplest needs are hard to get the community must reach out. With this students will feel validated and supported. They will have a love of school knowing that they are family and they can count on this community to help them.
