Fueling Multimedia Learning in My STEM Classroom

Help me give my students an iPad mini (with protective case), a microphone, a wide-angle lens, and a tripod mounting adapter for multimedia projects that will elevate STEM learning.

My Students

I love working with the amazing students at my STEM school. They are very supportive, highly motivated, collaborative in nature, and are always willing to try new things. The kids are grateful for the opportunities that they have. One student said to me, "Thank you for the way that you teach. I appreciate how you make it about life."

However, because the majority of the students come from high poverty areas they don't all have the same technology as their more privileged peers.

With more access to technology they can better prepare for the STEM careers that are awaiting them

My Project

My students make documentaries for Spanish class to help them and others see the need for speaking a foreign language. Currently, there is a great demand for iPads, tripod adaptors, tripods, and microphones with a small supply.

Making these documentaries in class gives the students the opportunity to research, edit, and revise their work before submitting it for review.

When they present in front of the class live, they do not have that same opportunity to have a "do over" or a "second take", as they do on video. This really gives them the chance to improve and practice in which is so important in any class and even more so in a foreign language class.
