My Project

Every day, my students walk into my classroom carrying more than just their backpacks. They carry hunger, stress, and distractions that make learning difficult. Many of my students rely on school meals as their primary source of food, and when those meals aren’t enough, it directly impacts their ability to focus, regulate emotions, and fully engage in learning.

I would love to provide individually wrapped snacks to support my students throughout the school day.

These snacks will be available during key moments such as snack time, before dismissal, and during extended learning or small group instruction. This is when energy dips and concentration becomes a challenge.

Access to snacks is not just about food. It’s about equity. When students’ basic needs are met, they are more confident, more focused, and more ready to learn. A pack of crackers can transform a child’s afternoon from one of struggle to one of success.

By providing consistent access to snacks, I am also creating a safe, supportive classroom environment where students feel cared for and valued. This is especially important for my students who may not always have reliable access to food at home.

I can ensure that no student has to choose between their hunger and their education.
