Fueling Curiosity and Creativity from the Library Front Desk
Help me give my students the gift of a functioning library circulation desk! An iMac computer will power the heart of our high school library, supporting research, reading, and student success.
My students are wonderfully nerdy, endlessly curious, and truly lovable. They read thousands of books each year, ask thoughtful questions, and pack our library every break, brunch, and lunch—so much so that we now have to hire a teacher just to help with crowd control during lunch!
Our library isn’t just a place to check out books; it’s a buzzing hub of student life, creativity, research, and connection.
Unfortunately, my current computer is over 12 years old, and it's become a serious barrier to helping my students. Whether I’m trying to look up a book, support a student with research, or send out an email to boost staff morale, I’m constantly being slowed down by freezes, crashes, and lag. Sometimes, I have to stop completely and wait ten minutes just to restart and try again.
This Apple iMac will change everything. With a fast, reliable computer at the front desk, I’ll be able to efficiently help students with research questions, manage our book circulation, and run the dozens of behind-the-scenes tasks that keep our library running smoothly. From supporting class visits to prepping programs and responding to student needs in real time, this upgrade will allow me to give students the responsive, welcoming support they deserve.
When the tools work, I can spend more time doing what matters most—connecting with students and helping them grow as readers, thinkers, and curious learners.
