My Project

My students are curious, creative, and full of energy. They love to laugh, share ideas, and connect what they are learning to the world around them. Each child brings something special to our classroom, and I strive to create a space where they feel confident, supported, and excited to learn every day. While many of my students enjoy stories, some are still working to find books that truly capture their interest and keep them engaged.

High-interest books can make all the difference in helping young readers grow.

Graphic novels like Wings of Fire provide visual support that helps students better understand characters, emotions, and plot, making them especially helpful for developing readers and English language learners. Books from the Teach Your Dragon series support social-emotional learning by teaching important life skills such as managing emotions, building confidence, and making positive choices in a fun and relatable way.

These resources will help my students develop a love of reading while also supporting their social-emotional growth. They will be used during independent reading, small group instruction, and classroom discussions, giving students opportunities to reflect, connect, and share their thinking. By providing engaging, high-interest texts, I can support all learners and help every student feel seen, understood, and empowered.

With these books, my students won’t just be growing as readers—they’ll be growing as people.
