My Project

COVID did a whammy on our children. This year, especially, I have seen an increase in students who are sad, moody or disconnected. The reasons are varied, so I do my absolute best to listen, to adapt and to understand each of my students. Part of my overall strategy is to create a learning environment that recognizes the grit and perseverance of students as they navigate not just school, but all of the other facets of their lives as well. Small rewards can work wonders.

I am requesting funding for food gift cards that I can use to encourage and acknowledge good behavior and hard work.

As much as I would love to say that learning is its own reward, sometimes I have to help the process along. These incentives will help my students to reach further in their studies. The cards will be particularly handy during state and AP exam season which is just a few short months away.
