My Project

What I love most about my students is their incredible diversity. Our classroom is a vibrant melting pot that brings together students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, including inner-city learners and students with a wide range of unique special needs. Despite the different challenges they may face outside these walls, they come together as a family. They are compassionate, resilient and they inspire me every single day. They support one another through every struggle, and I want to ensure my classroom supports them just as fiercely.

This is more than just a request for "stuff"; it is an essential mission of warmth and care to ensure that no student’s potential is limited by a growling stomach or a lack of resources.

Because we serve a high-need community, our school provides free lunch to every student to ensure they have a stable meal during the day. However, for many of our students, the time between lunch and the end of the day—or the transition from a long commute—can be difficult.

Your support will provide the essentials my students need to thrive both emotionally and academically. For my inner-city students and those facing food insecurity, providing consistent, healthy snacks ensures that hunger never interrupts a breakthrough moment. In addition, I am requesting items like fidgets and headphones to create an inclusive space where every sensory need is respected. I have also requested a white board that will benefit my students who are visually impaired or require more one to one support.

This project is about showing my students that their community sees them, values them, and wants to provide for them. By meeting their physical needs and providing specialized resources, you are helping me create a classroom where every student has the energy and the tools to reach their full potential.
