Recall taking apart your first electronic: a boombox, e-reader, game console, or computer. Remember getting engulfed in the seemingly complex system of wires and circuits? My students share that excitement and joy of discovering what makes things tick and innovating new and creative solutions. My students are inquisitive, collaborative innovators who crave to discover the newest forms of technology and utilize it in a FIRST Tech Challenge setting.
Hands on learning encourages collaboration, enthusiasm, and creativity within students and they are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
Our school is situated in Central New Jersey surrounded by bustling farms and developing neighborhoods. With a growing community the school is striving to provide more STEM opportunities to students.
As a team, we are composed of 9th, 10th and 11th graders. We are a young and passionate team looking to push the limits of our understanding, staying late after school and on weekends to build and program our robot for competitions in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We have one year under our belt and will strive for success with the help of our sponsors and mentors.
My Project
NEMESIS Prime Robotics, Team 14020, is preparing for its 2nd year of competition. Last year the team was able to succeed at preparing a robot while at school. Students utilized power drills, hacksaws, and many other tools while at school. Due to the equipement belonging to the technology teachers we are unable to work outside of school or bring these tools to competition to make minor alterations. As we reach our 2nd year, we are in need of new supplies and tools, such as the Nikita Driver Tool Kit and Nikita Drill Bits, to continue growing our program and succeeding.
Robotics is not just building from a kit of parts, but innovating and our students are learning to tackle these engineering issues from all directions.
