My Students
This year I have decided to return to my special education roots in a new district and my class will be a mix of kindergarten through fifth grade. I teach small intervention groups as the resource teacher. I met my new students at the end of last year and they are wonderful and eager to learn.
I can't wait to get to know them better and start making an educational difference and watch them bloom.
From the excitement to learn paired with kind encouragement of friendship, this year is going to be awesome-sauce!
My Project
As I continue to gain the supplies I need as a special education teacher, time and place value continue to be a necessary intervention area. Place value cubes can be used for learning what numbers really mean and how they go together. Analog clocks that can be manipulated and moved to explore time is powerful.
Hands-on materials are the best learning tools!
I hope to give my students the opportunity to get their hands on their learning. Conceptually understanding numbers and telling time accurately is a life skill that will never be lost. Giving the ability to learn in different ways is what my program is all about!
