Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have the privilege of teaching some of the most amazing kids on the planet, in one of the very best schools on the planet.
We are striving every day to become better than we were yesterday.
They have a lot of challenges, but they continue to be hard-working, creative, and determined. Our school has a very high poverty rate, almost 90%, and a very high English Language learner population, almost 75%.
My Project
These STEM kits and Makerspace materials will allow my students the opportunity to explore problem-solving, engineering, and creativity while learning about economics.
In addition to the traditional STEM/Makerspace learning that will be possible with these supplies, I also want to use this opportunity to teach my students’ economics skills.
My students will learn about scarcity, production, resources, human capital, and marketing through teacher-created lessons.
My students will then have the opportunity to create products/inventions in our Makerspace. They will market these products to their classmates and participate in a marketplace experience.
This Makerspace to marketplace opportunities will give my students so many experiences in problem-solving and real-world economics.
