This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at my school are curious, compassionate, and creative and each student is unique in their personality, learning styles and needs.

"Our kids are worth whatever it takes" is what we strive to meet every single day at our school.

Our school celebrates inclusion and embraces the needs of each individual student that walks through the doors of our classroom. Our kids love to move and it is encouraged within our classrooms in all of our lessons.

In our classroom we emphasize the importance of relationships, teamwork and a strong sense of community.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students the opportunity to take control of their learning environment and make choices that work best for them. During work time the students are free to find a setting or space in the room that works best for them. Currently my classroom has a variety of different options for each student such as a couch, picnic benches, bean bags and under tables with clipboards. Some students work better at tables but require different seating options other than a normal chair.

My students are more engaged, less disruptive and more successful when they are given a choice of where to work.

The product I have chosen for my students will continue to give them more seating options and success for learning. The high top table set will make them feel on top of the world and allow for a collaborative group work space!

For my floor sitters, it's always hard to find a good surface to write on. This lap desk for will be perfect to make sure the quality of their work also matches the quality of their learning!

I have seen first hand with not only my students, but all the students at my school how much more successful and motivated students are when given free choice of seating that best fits their needs as a learner.
