My Project
Biology students will have the opportuity to have a hands-on approach to the mammalian body system. Many of our dissection kits have been used multiple times and with new up to date classrooms it is vital that students have new supplies as well. The new dissection kits and trays will allow the students to have the best products while doing their research. Each student in class will have the opportunity to dissect and learn the organs and functions of the fetal pigs. The three Pre AP Biology classes will take the scientific process one step futher with dissection of the reproductive units of 3 species which include the sheep, cow, and pig. The beginning of life starts with the cell and as we progress through the class the students learn about the smallest unit of life and finish with complete organisms. As we learn about body systems students will have the opportunity to identify each organ and during class discussion learn about their functions. Science is an interactive class that the students get an opportunity to not only see the world around them but touch it as well. It is labs like these that prove to students that learning can be a fun and exciting thing.
