Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every child deserves to walk into a classroom where they feel welcomed, safe, and excited to learn. This is my first full year teaching second grade, and I am working to create a classroom that encourages collaboration, creativity, and a love of learning from the very first day. A classroom rug will become the heart of our room, providing a space for morning meetings, read-alouds, math discussions, and whole-group lessons. Colorful book bins will help organize our classroom library so students can easily find books that interest them and build independent reading habits. Chart paper will allow us to create anchor charts together that students can reference throughout the year. These resources will help transform an empty classroom into a warm, organized learning community where every child feels supported, engaged, and ready to succeed.
