This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Working with media equipment allows students to take charge of their creativity and produce work that reflects their voices and experiences. During editing sessions, students need reliable access to tools like mice and organized shared materials in order to meet deadlines and bring their ideas to life. Right now, students are often delayed due to disconnected or missing wireless mice, or time lost trying to locate shared items like headphones and SD cards. These interruptions can derail the flow of a creative session, especially when students are on a roll with editing or uploading. Ensuring students have consistent access to the tools they need is essential for supporting their learning and boosting their confidence.

My students are noticeably more focused and productive when they don’t have to worry about faulty equipment or missing supplies.

The materials I’ve selected—wired mice and label makers—will help my students work more efficiently and independently. The wired mice will eliminate the frequent problems we’ve faced with lost or disconnected wireless mice, giving students the ability to stay engaged and finish projects using industry-standard software like Adobe Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator. The label makers will help us organize and track shared items like headphones, memory cards, and hard drives—tools that are constantly rotating between students in audio, photography, and graphic design projects. This will help build accountability, reduce loss, and make our shared space easier to navigate.

I’ve seen how access to reliable tools can completely shift a student’s confidence and output—and I’m excited to keep building a creative environment where their voices can shine.
