From Cart to Table: Supplying Furniture for Fourth Grade
My students need a rainbow table for guided reading and a media cart to keep our classroom computer and printer mobile and safe.

My Students
Our students live in an urban area filled with diversity. Many of our kids are English Language Learners or speak English as their second language. We strive to give them every opportunity within the four walls of our school so that they may become the future leaders of tomorrow!
They beg for more homework, ask thought-provoking questions, and come to class every day excited to learn.
Even though they may face struggles at home, they work hard to make their school hours count!
My Project
Currently, my small groups are working at desk clusters for guided reading. It is hard to hear students read and for them to see and hear me. A new rainbow table would help make our daily guided reading sessions (or any small group work) a better organized and appropriate use of our time and space.
Guided reading is an essential component of our reading block and being able to face each student as they read would vastly improve the students' educational experience on a daily basis.
A computer cart would help make the printer and laptop more mobile for use in any part of our classroom. This would also enable students to eventually check out their own library books using my automated checkout system, helping them to achieve the independence they need to learn at this age.
