This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work as a special education teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they encounter, I am looking to provide my students with shirts they can wear to school.
The students range from grades 3-5 and are all in our ALL STARS program.
We are in need of uniform shirts for our students to wear. Any donation that you send will be greatly appreciated.
My Project
At first glance, clothes might seem to have very little to do with learning. But the saying goes, “The clothes make the man,” and this might be true for the educational environment, as well. In many communities, standardized dress or uniforms are transforming schools into places where learning is positively affected. We want to begin to dress our young boys for success by having them dress up white shirts by Calvin Klein, with tie and blazers to school. We want to promote a positive environment and attitude that will assist them until they graduate and enter the workforce. Please help us to change our boys into men.
