This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At the beginning of the year we read the novel, Fish In a Tree. The mean girl in the book gave friendship bracelets to all the cool kids. Turned out, those cool kids had to buy the bracelets. They didn't represent friendship at all. I would love to give my students the supplies to make true friendship bracelets. This would be a great culminating activity to do after we read the novel, Crenshaw, another novel about the meaning of friendship.

This project would also allow for me to teach them a new craft of making bracelets.

It is important to give students different outlets of things they enjoy doing and allowing for them to be artsy.
