My students absolutely loved making the mosaic coasters. They have never worked with tile, so this was a whole new experience for them. And the grout was another first for all of them. It sure was messy. They all did such a wonderful job. This is definitely a project I will continue to do with my students and am hoping next year to do more than coasters and \r\n incorporate more of the tile tools. You can never have too many sharpies. They are constantly used for a variety of art projects. They are perfect for outlining drawings. They work great for stipple art. We use them constantly when we are creating different zentangles or optical illusion art. I am excited to use the silver and gold metallic sharpies. They are new materials to our art studio. My students absolutely love doing hands-on art projects. We have not started our mosaic coasters yet. This project has given us the molds, the tile cutters/nippers and some tile. This project is off to a great start. Our second Donors project for this activity was recently funded so we are going to be able to do this sooner than later. Yah! These orange stools are so vibrant and add such a beautiful pop of color to my classroom. They are also very comfortable and have a been a great start to my flexible seating.
