Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are an enthusiastic group of kindergarteners and first graders. They've had many challenges in their little lives, including a global pandemic, but are passionate about learning. They are the prime examples in our Dual Language Program and will leave multilingual and biliterate. As we wrote our class vision, they hoped that they would one day be community helpers, readers, writers, artists, mathematicians, good communicators, problem solvers, and graduates. I believe they'll be all that and more.

We love becoming better readers through independent literacy centers, but our literacy centers need to be restocked!

Our centers need new supplies to keep them running. We need primary journals and dry erase markers for our writing center to turn us into authors in no time. Clay and Wikki Stix will help both our letter formation and small motor skills for our word work center. Headphone adapters and keyboard covers will allow us to read and hear more books in our listening center. Once we refresh on these materials and can restart our centers, I am confident that we will grow as readers!
