My Students
My students are English Language Learners who speak different languages at home. They are students who are enrolled in general education classes, but need support in developing their English language skills, in order to excel in their other subjects. They love to learn and come to class every day ready to work hard!
In order to fully access the grade level curriculum, my students need support in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
This will help them be their most successful in school and in their future career paths.
My Project
My students will use these basic supplies every day throughout the year so this project will help them start the year off on the right foot. I try to incorporate creative activities into many of our lessons, so I want my students to have crayons, markers, and colored pencils available so they can be as creative as possible!
Being able to draw and illustrate their work will allow my English learning students to feel confident that they can communicate what they are learning.
Using drawing as a pre-writing activity can help students organize their ideas and give them a way to start their writing, which is challenging for many students.
