My Project

As we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year, it is difficult to not become excited for a brand-new start! I love welcoming my new second-grade students to our classroom each August.

There is nothing better than brand-new pencils and crayons.

Each summer, I work diligently to create a classroom environment that is warm, welcoming, and clean for my incoming students. In order to do so, I require some materials each year, such as pencils, crayons, and tissues, to be replenished.

In addition, our district uses a reading curriculum, Common Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA), which relies heavily on reference materials that are used daily, as well as flashcards and personal reading books for the students.

In order to help students put materials away efficiently, I have designed binders that allow all the necessary materials to have a "home". Students learn exactly where to look when they need something, as well as where to put it away when they are finished with it.

While learning to read and write are essential skills for my little scholars, so are learning how to organize themselves to become confident independent learners. These binders, folders, pockets, and pouches are a great way to foster this type of learning! Please help me provide some very basic, but essential, materials for my students.
