My Students

My creative, and energetic 3rd grade students who attend a public school in Kalamazoo, Michigan where they receive free breakfast and lunch every day. Many of them do not have access to books at home or visit our wonderful, local public libraries.

My Project

Books, books, books...where do I start? Classrooms need books. Books for students to read independently. Books to read, just for fun. Books at their level. Books with pictures. Chapter books. Graphic novels. Books that will peek a student's interest. Books about current topics.

"Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him" -Maya Angelou.

Help me to update and refresh our classroom library. Help me to spark their interest and find their joy...in books.
