Fresh Books, Fresh Minds: Building a Classroom Library Students Love

Help me give my students a fresh new and current classroom library worth reading!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students deserve books that reflect their world, their interests, and their voices. As an English Language Arts teacher, I work every day to help students fall in love with reading—but many of the books currently in our classroom library are outdated, worn, or no longer engaging for today’s middle school readers.

This project will help transform our classroom library into a vibrant, inclusive, and up-to-date space where every student can find a book they want to read.

Many of my students are reluctant readers. One of the biggest reasons? They simply haven’t found the right book yet. A refreshed classroom library will: increase student engagement and reading stamina, support independent reading and choice, help students build confidence and comprehension skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading.

With your support, we will add a variety of current, student-loved books, including: graphic novels and verse novels, diverse and inclusive titles, high-interest fiction and nonfiction, popular and trending middle school reads.

These books will be used daily during independent reading time, small groups, and classroom activities.

Thank you for supporting my students and investing in their futures. Your generosity helps create a classroom where every student can see themselves as a reader.
