Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Resilient, hardworking, kind, and full of grit are just a handful of words that I can use to describe my students. I am incredibly lucky to work alongside these spectacular students each and every day.

I am their teacher, but they also teach me just what it means to have grit.

Many of our students have tough situations at home. Some may not have a single book of their own to read at home. We strive to create a classroom library rich in cultures and characters which represent every single one of our students. The difficult cards they may have been dealt do not stop them from soaring. I encourage my students to explore the world around them and constantly learn from the perspectives of others.

The students in my classroom work so incredibly hard to achieve their goals, and they have a thirst to grow as readers and as people in their community. They serve as role models to those around them. They do this by initiating random acts of kindness in the school and community they live in. I have no doubt that they will one day change the world.

My Project

My students work hard inside and outside of the classroom! These kiddos work hard, but play harder.

Feeling good, safe, and healthy about our bodies is important to students' mental health.

I want to make sure that my students have everything they need to be successful not only in school, but in life. 4th grade bodies are growing and changing bodies. I want to provide personal deodorant for each student and also have a backup suppl for when a student might have forgotten to put it on before they left home. Feeling safe and secure in their own bodies will set my students up for success!
