My Students

My students have Autism but that does not stop them from trying anything and everything. My students are eager to make friends and enjoy spending time with their typical peers. They are resilient in so many ways. Although some may have communication deficits or mobility issues you would never be able to say they did not give it 100% and find a way to participate and overcome.

My Project

Students need a safe and clean place for them to be able.to thrive. Routines are important and with the onset of illnesses, I want to be able to provide the students with a safe and germ-free environment. Living in the desert is hard enough with the sand, dirt, and wind but couple that with flu season and we have a perfect storm for students getting sick. By using the purifier for the air, the steamer for the carpets, desks, and bathroom area we can help prevent the spread of a virus. Using the Clorox wipes and the steamer we will also be able to sanitize the common manipulatives, sensory stations, and games. Teaching students with Autism can be tough in this day and age and sensory plays into taking off masks, placing things in our mouths, or wanting to touch everything. When my students have to miss a day then this throws them off and they are not able to focus when they return. By doing everything to promote health and wellness in the classroom we will be able to really become the superstars that I know they can achieve. Using the gift cards I will be able to provide them with more digital content that is created just for students with autism. The individual curriculum and the clean class may turn out the next inventor, CEO, or possibly the president.
