Freedom from Period Poverty

My Project

Period poverty is the lack of access to education about menstruation or menstrual products. This is an issue that faces an alarming number of students in the United States. A study by Think and Period found that twenty-three percent of students experience period poverty. Additionally, an overwhelming majority of students felt that period products should be available to them in their school bathrooms.

This is the one of the many projects the Italian National Honor Society has created as part of their community engagement volunteering in the last three years, and we are already short of resources because girls are actually using the products INHS makes available to them.

It is important to provide students with the privacy and products they need in order to succeed and be able to thrive in a school environment. We were helped by generous donors who believed in equity for all last school year, and now it is vital to receive your support to provide girls with pads and tampons for the spring semester of 2023-2024. We still need help as our resources are running low.
