My Project

As a former English teacher and current middle school librarian, books are at the heart of everything I do with my students. I use them as mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors to allow my students a chance to see themselves in words or venture to far off lands and times.

The excitement in a student's voice when they share how much they loved a book is absolutely priceless.

Unfortunately, public school budgets do not allow for as may priceless moments as we would like to have. It is only because of generous donors who genuinely care about our children and their future that we are able to keep creating readers among our students.

Each book on my list was chosen with specific student in mind. I know who will be over the moon to see a book about a secret library and who will beg to come to the library when they find out there is a new book about the Titanic. That is why I do what I do. And I cannot do it without you.
