They're able to focus so much better, as they can individually listen to their own music. One moment that really stood out was when two students practiced together on the keyboards, as they were fully engaged, listening to each other, and having fun without as many equipment issues. My students immediately wanted to try out the headphones and noticed how much clearer everything sounded. They also mentioned that the headphones were more comfortable. The new chairs were a hit, as they are a good height, easy to move around, and stack.\r\n\r\nNow that we have reliable equipment, students can really dive into learning new keyboard pieces and practicing rhythms and melodies in pairs or small groups. Next, we're planning more partner and ensemble activities where students can collaborate, create their own digital music with the help of the headphones, and continue building their musical skills in a fun, supportive way.","fullyFundedDate":1745689612453,"projectUrl":"project/upgrade-our-keys-new-gear-for-piano-mag/9142958/","projectTitle":"Upgrade Our Keys: New Gear for Piano Magic!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. MacLeod","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8905776"},{"teacherId":9936283,"projectId":9144404,"letterContent":"I want to thank you all once again for your contribution to my class project \"Something Rotten.\" Your generosity allowed each student to have their own book during these lessons. While this might not seem like an important piece to teaching, I find it incredibly useful in managing and creating a reading schedule. While students are allowed time in class to read, sometimes the reading proves to be too much or events transpire to take time in class away from students so that they find themselves unable to complete the reading. Being able to take the book with them gives them the opportunity to stay on track or even go ahead. \r\n Furthermore, as can be seen in the pictures sent, having their own copy allowed students to take notes in the way that worked for them. Some used sticky notes within the books while others utilized a notebook. What was important was that they be given that choice. Too often students are set into a mold on how to do something that doesn't work for them. You gave them the opportunity to work to their strengths.\r\n The flexibility in reading also allowed for an extra: a bird conservation group came and brought 2 birds that were rescued. Allowing the students to see live animals that are discussed in the book was a special treat allowable because of the flexibility I had with the reading schedule.\r\n This project worked so smoothly and more efficiently thanks to your generosity and once more, I cannot thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1741885175332,"projectUrl":"project/roadkill-science-road-ecology-and-its-i/9144404/","projectTitle":"Roadkill Science: Road Ecology and its Impact on us","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ribaudo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9936283"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_80267","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":557,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":51,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":73.0,"schoolId":80267,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pennichuck Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pennichuck Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-hampshire/school-administrative-unit-42/pennichuck-middle-school/80267"}
